Our certification program is specifically designed to help instructors develop their practice and business by giving them a detailed understanding of the curriculum and class room experience with students as well as a comprehensive foundation for running their own business. The exercises will help you develop your marketing, sales and business leadership skills, allowing you to make more money as an instructor. Through the discussions, lectures and practices, instructors will also learn more about what they are teaching and improve their teaching technique by actually doing the teaching and getting valuable feedback from other instructors. The program also includes sessions with students who are learning from you as you are practicing teaching to provide real world experience.

Tuition

Temple of Poi offers three levels of Certification for this program. Since the certification examinations are more comprehensive at higher levels of certification, pricing is also determined based on the certification level/type. Students may retest up to 3 times within 6 months of the first day of the in person training weekend for a fee of $75 per retest.

Level I: Foundation Certification is appropriate for students looking to expand their skills as well as casual instructors. Level I certification tuition includes the entire 24+ hour course, a printed copy of the manual, access to the Beginner Moves Training materials as well as the computer based training program for beginners ($90 value) grading for the written exam as well as a 30 minute consultation with GlitterGirl ($70 value) about your exams and grades. Certification is achieved when students score 80% or higher on the written exam and 40% grade during the Live Teaching Exam. $899

Level II: Mezzo Certification is appropriate for instructors who wish to start their own business or who already offer some poi classes and want to expand their skills. Tuition includes everything from Level I certification as well as a written analysis and grading for the live teaching exam. Certification is achieved when students score 85% or higher on the written exam and 70% or more on the Live Teaching Exam. Students must pass both the Level I exam as well as the live teaching exam to qualify as a Level II certified instructor. $999

Level III: Flowologist Certification is appropriate for full time poi and flow arts professionals who offer instruction as a means for helping artists develop more tuition includes everything in Level's I and II as well as analysis and grading of the final dissertation Flowologist candidates submit. Flowology Certification includes 2 additional 30 minute consultations with GlitterGirl ($135 value) to assist with the creation of their business as well as their dissertation. Students may submit up 2 two revisions of their dissertation to attain a passing grade. All submissions must be received within 6 months of the first day of the in person training weekend. Students must be Mezzo certified as well as creating a passing dissertation to qualify as a Level III certified instructor. $1299
